About the role
The position involves providing specialized instruction to students with severe disabilities within a school setting. The teacher will work closely with a team of educators, therapists, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Teach academic subjects tailored to the needs of students with severe disabilities.
- Develop and implement IEPs to meet the unique educational goals of each student.
- Collaborate with other professionals to provide a comprehensive educational program.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in regular meetings with parents, teachers, and other relevant parties to discuss student performance and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
- Valid state special education teaching certification.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Knowledge of special education methodologies and techniques.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in using assistive technology and software.
