Travel assignment for a Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech in an acute care environment located in Hilo, Hawaii, United States. Start date: 09/21/2026 for a 13-week engagement.
Pay
Weekly pay ranges from $2,158 to $2,344 per week.
Schedule
Shift: Rotating. This is a travel/temporary assignment with no guaranteed hours. On-call expectations: 40-hour week plus on-call as appropriate. Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for mandatory employee health onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations across a broad range of body systems, including:
- Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, liver/biliary, pancreas, spleen, kidneys)
- Pelvis and neonatal head
- Superficial structures (breast, thyroid, scrotum)
- Vascular studies (carotid duplex, upper/lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
- Conduct gynecologic imaging (breast, ovaries/adnexa, uterus, pelvis) and obstetric imaging (1st–3rd trimesters, amniocentesis, BPP, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IGUR, uterus/adnexa).
- Perform neonatal imaging as indicated.
- Perform interventional procedures as required, including aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative imaging.
- Document findings clearly in the EMR and ensure correct storage in the PACS; operate equipment such as Canon i700, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS.
- Demonstrate proficiency in both normal and pathology imaging and participate in on-call duties as assigned.
- Maintain sterile technique and patient safety, adhere to dress code (personal scrubs, healthcare professional attire), and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Coordinate with nursing and physician teams to optimize workflow and patient care; participate in floating to other units as needed.
Requirements
- ARDMS certification in AB, OB, and RVT.
- Active BLS certification (AHA).
- Minimum 3 years of ultrasound experience in an acute care setting.
- At least 3 years of full-time sonography experience.
- At least one prior contract or travel assignment.
- Ability to work in a rotating schedule with on-call responsibilities; willing to float to other units as needed.
- Must arrive the Thursday prior to the start date to complete employee health requirements; cannot start remotely or with delayed onboarding.
