Job Summary

Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Baltimore, MD. This position offers competitive pay and a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care services to patients in a hospital setting
• Perform procedures such as drawing arterial blood gases, extubation, and suctioning
• Interpret and respond to patient ABGs and other diagnostic tests
• Manage ventilator settings and assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Document patient care in the charting system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans

Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Current RRT certification
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Qualifications

• Experience with adult critical care
• Knowledge of albuterol, bronchoscopy, drawing arterial blood gases, emergency department protocols, extubation, Flovent, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), inhaled Flolan, interpretation of ABGs, mucomyst, oxygen tanks, racemic epinephrine, aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, ARDS, aspiration, atrovent, bag and mask, bicarbonate, BiPAP, chest physiotherapy, chest physiotherapy: vest, COVID, CPAP, ET tube, fresh tracheostomy, hand-held, intubation assist, metered dose inhaler (MDI), nitric oxide (INO), pneumonia, pulmicort, pulmonary hygiene, SIMV (synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation), spiriva, sputum specimen collection, trach collar, ultrasonic, weaning from mechanical ventilation, suctioning (ETT, NT), trach collar, tracheostomy care/management, troubleshooting high pressure alarms
