Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

About the Role

A Travel Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary and critical conditions. They assess, treat, and manage respiratory issues independently, working closely with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver life-saving therapies and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
• Examine and interview patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
• Perform diagnostic tests such as lung capacity measurements and sample collection
• Administer treatments including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
• Set up, monitor, and adjust equipment to ensure proper oxygen delivery
• Document patient progress and monitor status
• Educate patients and families on medication use and equipment handling
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice as assigned

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as an RRT
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
• Valid respiratory therapy license per state regulations
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS preferred
• Critical thinking, strong communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English, PC skills, and ability to follow instructions
• Physical ability to move equipment and assist with procedures
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in diverse team settings
