Responsibilities
- Provide basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapies (oxygen, aerosol therapies, airway clearance, ventilator support) per physician orders and department policies
- Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments in partnership with the multidisciplinary team; escalate as needed
- Complete documentation in electronic medical records, maintain flow sheets, and process charges for each patient
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and supervise others as delegated; collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to optimize patient care
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards across all respiratory care activities
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license valid in California (or eligibility for licensure by endorsement)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; current certification acceptable
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Experience in acute care/hospital-based respiratory therapy; experience with adult and geriatric care preferred
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or higher from an accredited program
