Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care per physician orders
- Educate patients and families, offer appropriate teaching, and document education in the EMR
- Maintain patient condition changes, communicate pertinent information to the care team, and adjust care plans as needed
- Perform pain assessment and take action according to standard operating procedures
- Complete documentation including order entry, verification, medication charting, patient safety/incident reports, and equipment tagging
- Maintain respiratory equipment: disassemble, clean, assemble, and perform preventative maintenance; tag equipment requiring maintenance and coordinate with the appropriate department
- Transport infants to/from referral health systems and ensure safe transfer according to protocol
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet department needs
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Respiratory Therapist license with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care prior to start date
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association prior to start; ACLS; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) prior to start
- Experience/Education: Not specified in the notes; qualified candidates will meet standard professional requirements for this role
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and participate in a travel assignment
- Compliance with credentialing and primary source verification prior to start
