Travel Respiratory Therapist - NICU - $3,474 per week

About the role

Travel Certified Respiratory Therapy – NICU position in Charlottesville, Virginia. Duration: 52 weeks. Schedule: 12‑hour day shifts, 48 hours per week. Immediate opening for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds‑RRT) with at least 1 year of recent acute‑care experience. The therapist provides direct patient care across multiple clinical areas, performing evaluations and treatments per procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients.
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to the director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care.
• Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute‑care experience.
• NBRC‑RRT certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – may be required in some areas.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – may be required in some areas.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; patient handling may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay & Schedule
