Travel Respiratory Therapist - $1,743 per week

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures and treatments to patients, and providing education upon discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and nebulizer devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods as required.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography based on policy.
• Review patient's chest x-rays and recommend further evaluation as needed.
• Perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies following established policies.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care according to policy.
• Provide tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tubes as needed.
• Perform arterial puncture and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Follow all laboratory testing policies, including specimen handling and quality control.
• Execute cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Set up and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment; assist in its repair as necessary.
• Document treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and report necessary information during shifts.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
