Responsibilities
Evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans
Explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients
Providing necessary education upon discharge
Congducting physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using various ventilatory and oxygen devices
Performing chest physiotherapy and suctioning by different methods
Monitoring patients using oximetry and capnography
Conducting pulmonary function studies
Assisting with respiratory care procedures
Performing tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
Performing arterial puncture and determining efficiency of ventilation
Documenting and reporting test results
Adhering to policies regarding laboratory testing, equipment use, documentation, and quality control
Executing cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines
Managing mechanical ventilation equipment
Maintaining and monitoring set-up and performance
Maintaining accurate records of treatments and patient responses
Requirements
Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist as required by the state

Pay Package
The Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
