Job Details

• Shift: Rotating shift, 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: 36 hours per week minimum, with shifts potentially rotating across days and nights

Required Qualifications

• Active respiratory therapy certification
• Iowa respiratory license preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of current respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
• Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience within the last 18 months
• Level III NICU experience within the last 15 months
• Valid drivers license
• Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, NBRC, and PALS certifications
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the past 15 months
• No first-time travelers
• Minimum 36 months of current Respiratory Therapy experience
• Equipment experience including jet ventilator, Drager ventilator, oscillator ventilator
• Ability to float across different units

Preferred Qualifications

• Iowa Department of Public Health respiratory license
• NICU experience
• Level III NICU experience
• Highly preferred certificates and documentations

Additional Information

• Position requires working 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed
• Orientation sessions are scheduled for 07/27/2026, 08/03/2026, and 08/10/2026
• The role involves caring for all ages, primarily adults with NICU patients
• Scrubs can be any color with solid tops and bottoms
• The department utilizes equipment such as Drager ventilators, Jet ventilators, and oscillators
• Candidates should be willing and able to float across various units throughout the hospital

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
