Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Travel temporary assignment in Honolulu, Hawaii, starting on 09/07/2026 for 13 weeks.
About the Role
This position is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting, focusing on adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The role involves 3x12-hour rotating shifts with guaranteed hours of 32 per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult patients in the PCU, including telemetry monitoring, routine assessments, and timely escalation of clinical changes.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; manage IV lines and infusion devices; document responses and adverse events.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, update care plans, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and support staff; participate in rounds, handoffs, and care conferences.
- Implement safety protocols, manage pain and comfort measures, and respond to alarms and urgent needs to ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients and families as appropriate, provide individualized care, and prepare patients for transitions of care and discharge when indicated.
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license prior to the start of the contract.
- Must be able to pass an on-site EKG test to continue the contract.
- Availability to work 3x12-hour rotating shifts and consecutive weekends as needed.
- Travel nurse assignment; able to meet unit and hospital requirements for onboarding and credentialing.
Pay
Weekly pay ranges from $1,951 to $1,977, with guaranteed hours of 32 per week. Note: Holiday pay applies only when the shift begins on the holiday.
Schedule
3x12-hour rotating shifts for a 13-week contract duration.
