Responsibilities

• Provide direct post-anesthesia care in the ASU/PACU, monitoring patient recovery status and vital signs
• Assess airway, breathing, circulation; manage pain, nausea, and comfort; respond to clinical changes promptly
• Administer medications per hospital protocol and ensure safe use of anesthesia-related medications
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams; perform accurate documentation and handoffs to next care team
• Prepare patients for discharge from PACU; communicate discharge instructions and care plan to receiving units

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license applicable to the assignment (state where practicing)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ASU/PACU or critical care setting
• Ability to work in a PACU/ASU environment; day shifts with weekend call
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and teamwork skills
