Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, patient-family centered perioperative care in the operating room and related perioperative areas
  • Act as patient advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity, and culturally competent care across all populations
  • Protect patients from injury and ensure correct site, side, and procedure; manage specimens according to policy
  • Administer medications safely and monitor patient status; maintain tissue perfusion and wound integrity
  • Communicate patient status to the care team throughout the continuum of care; collaborate with other disciplines

Requirements

  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Licenses: Current RN license in Oregon
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC required
  • Perioperative credentials: CNOR and Peri-op 101 preferred; CRASE training may be required if the assignment extends beyond 6 months
  • Experience: None required; preferred: previous RN circulator or scrub experience
  • Eligibility: Ability to work within a perioperative setting, including on-call rotation and possible cross-department coverage
