Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job

- Setting: outpatient infusion center within a hospital
- EPIC experience required
- Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies (IV antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, IVIG) and hydration per physician orders; monitor patient responses and manage adverse reactions.
- Maintain and care for central venous access devices; assist with peripheral IV placement and care of ports/fistulas/catheters as needed.
- Monitor patients during infusion, assess for complications, and escalate issues per protocol; ensure patient safety and aseptic technique.
- Document thoroughly in EPIC, including orders, progress notes, and response to therapy; collaborate with the infusion team to coordinate care.
- Educate patients on medications, potential side effects, and post-infusion care; provide coaching on self-administration of certain therapies when applicable.
- Adhere to onboarding requirements, including de-escalation training, and comply with all regulatory and safety standards.
- New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate must be uploaded up front with traveler profile.
- Chemo Certification (ONS) and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) required.
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient oncology and infusion experience; strong IV therapy skills including peripheral IV and port/fistula/catheter care.
- EPIC electronic health record experience required; ability to document and manage orders efficiently.
- IV certification highly preferred; BSN preferred; current BLS/ACLS credentials recommended.
- Must be able to pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer; de-escalation training completed as part of onboarding.
