Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Tele Job
Overview
A registered nurse (RN) position is available for a telemedicine Med Surg assignment in Zanesville, Ohio. The start date is September 21, 2026, for a 13-week contract. The shift is nights (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekly pay ranges from $1,644 to $1,749.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct care to Med Surg Telemetry patients with cardiac step-down needs, including monitoring hemodynamics and supporting post-op cardiac care
- Administer medications and IV therapy, manage cardiac drips, and monitor heart cath recovery as part of the patient care plan
- Provide care for open-heart post-operative patients as required, with attention to airway, ventilation (rare cases), and advanced cardiac monitoring
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress in Epic EMR; communicate with the cardiology team and multidisciplinary staff
- Assist with discharge planning, patient education, and ensuring safety and comfort during shifts
- Floating to other units during periods of low census or staffing needs; responding to fluctuating census while maintaining patient safety
Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific as required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years' cardiac step-down experience, including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, and post-operative open-heart care
- Experience with Open-Heart care and Epic EMR
- Able to float to other units as needed; comfortable caring for ventilated patients in rare circumstances
