Registered Nurse - ICU travel assignment in Carbondale, Illinois. Start date 08/17/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay ranges from $2,916 to $3,061 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care to high-acuity ICU patients in a 21-bed unit, maintaining a typical 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Monitor and document vital signs, hemodynamics, and patient progress; administer medications and manage lines, drips, and tubes per protocol
- Support ventilated patients and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and daily rounds
- Perform comprehensive assessments, respond to clinical changes, and initiate appropriate interventions to maintain patient safety
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff; communicate effectively with families to provide updates and education
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record and maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety standards
- Weekend coverage: every other weekend; no on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois (or eligible as applicable) and in good standing
- ICU nursing experience preferred, with exposure to cardiac, neuro, neurosurgical, post-operative cardiac and general surgery, medical ICU, or trauma patient populations
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 3x12 schedule (1900–0730)
- Available for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
