Responsibilities
- Provide direct, specialty-focused nursing care to critically ill neuro patients in the ICU, including traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, stroke, and related conditions.
- Maintain airway management responsibilities, ventilator support as needed, and respond rapidly to clinical changes or emergencies.
- Collaborate with neurology, critical care, and multidisciplinary teams; participate in rounds and implement unit protocols.
- Document patient status, care plans, and NIHSS findings; ensure accurate, timely charting and communication with families.
- Hold infection control practices, patient safety standards, and evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity neuro ICU.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York (NY License ONLY)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU acute care experience
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
- NIHSS certification required
- Telemetry experience required
- Ability to work in a Neuro ICU environment and participate in D/E/N rotation, with Holidays/On-Call/Callback as needed
About the role
This travel assignment starts on 08/03/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,960 to $2,100. Shifts are 12 hours with a Day/Evening/Night rotation (3x12), including holidays/on-call/callback as needed. The role is in a hospital ICU dedicated to critically ill neurologic patients, requiring advanced critical care nursing skills.
