Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Overview

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) in Mauston, Wisconsin, United States. This travel assignment runs for 13 weeks with guaranteed 32 hours per week. Shift: 3x12-hour days. Practice in a short-term acute care setting with clinic coverage as part of the ED care continuum.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate age-appropriate nursing care for patients presenting to the ED, from pediatric through geriatric populations
• Perform triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level process and develop patient care plans accordingly
• Document care and patient responses accurately in the ED record; communicate needs concisely to the care team
• Collaborate with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective patient care
• Prioritize patient care to maintain flow, manage multiple patients, administer medications and therapies, monitor life-support equipment, and perform emergency resuscitation as needed
• Facilitate discharge planning and education for patients and families; participate in ongoing professional development and departmental education

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin registered nursing license or active compact licensure
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required; ATCN preferred
• ADN (two-year) degree required; BSN preferred
• 2+ years of relevant ED/acute care nursing experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting and maintain composure in high-stress situations
• Proficiency with computerized documentation and ED information systems
