Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the ED, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and intervention for acute conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform phlebotomy as required; document all care in MEDITECH electronic health record
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations; initiate appropriate interventions and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
- Assist with procedures, maintain patient safety, manage patient transfers, and ensure proper lift and move techniques
- May assume charge nurse duties as assigned; demonstrate leadership, prioritization, and delegation when coordinating care for multiple patients
- Deliver patient and family education, discharge planning, and continuity of care planning; maintain clear, accurate written and verbal communication
Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS required
- MEDITECH experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical Care and charge nurse experience preferred
- Able to work in a high-stress environment, identify safety issues, and intervene appropriately
- Ability to provide IV, medication administration, and phlebotomy certification during orientation
