Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinating care with other disciplines
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to maintain high-quality patient care
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, documenting outcomes according to policy
- Hold patient safety, ensure adherence to clinical protocols, and participate in ongoing quality improvement efforts
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education as appropriate
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- Current BLS certification
- ER nursing experience preferred
- Nursing degree from an accredited program (ASRN/BSN acceptable)
- Ability to work nights and the 3x12 schedule in a fast-paced ER setting
