Overview

Registered Nurse – ER travel assignment in Lincoln, Maine. Start date: 08/03/2026 for a 13-week engagement with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: three 12-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for emergency department patients
• Prioritize care needs, develop and implement plans of care, and execute nursing actions to achieve patient goals
• Administer medications using the five rights and monitor patient responses; document all care activities per policy
• Communicate patient status and changes in plan to the health care team; participate in rounds and multidisciplinary meetings
• Assist with discharge planning, patient/family education, and post-discharge follow-up as indicated
• Maintain a safe environment, ensure supplies and equipment are ready, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and disaster/emergency preparedness activities as required

Requirements

• Licence: Active RN license in Maine or a compact state; current Maine nursing license; BSN preferred
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer) or documentation; HepB (3 doses or titer) or declination (declination allowed only for HepB); MMR (2 doses or titer); Tdap; PPD (2-step or titer within past 12 months); Flu shot required during flu season
• Experience/Education: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities; effective verbal and written communication; knowledge of nursing assessment across all age groups; ability to perform in a high-acuity ER setting
• Physical/Environmental: Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, reach, balance, lift up to 30 lbs, push patients in wheelchairs or stretchers; visual and hearing acuity adequate for patient assessment; exposure to infectious agents and cleaning chemicals may occur
