Responsibilities
Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process
Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while applying critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment
Assess patient status, implement orders, administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document care accurately
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety across shifts
Maintain strict adherence to patient safety, infection control, and privacy policies; communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
Provide guidance and support to junior staff as needed, while maintaining professional scope of practice
Requirements
- Active nursing license appropriate for practice in California
- Emergency department (ER) nursing experience or demonstrated ER competencies aligned with the specialty
- Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour shift schedule in a hospital setting
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to coordinate care across disciplines and supervise nursing staff
- Eligibility for travel assignments and ability to meet assignment duration and start date requirements
