Job Summary

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This role involves maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by following established nursing care plans. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, ensuring safety and quality standards are met within a specialized unit focused on intermediate patient care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to the first shift;
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience;
  • Current RN license in the state of Kentucky;
  • Educational background meeting the standards for RN licensure.

Additional Information

  • Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical records.
  • Initiates discharge planning on the day of admission and provides patient education related to discharge.
  • Participates in team building and unit activities to promote a positive work environment.
  • Assumes charge responsibilities after orientation, with a focus on safety, effective resource utilization, and professional growth.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
