About the role
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Zanesville, Ohio. This position involves providing specialized patient care on a PCU with a focus on cardiac step-down patients, post-operative open-heart recovery, and occasionally ventilated patients. The RN will work a 12-hour night shift, typically every third weekend, and may be called upon to cover holidays or rare call days. The assignment begins on 09/21/2026, with the possibility of assignment modifications based on staffing needs.
Schedule
- Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
- Every third weekend
- Occasional holiday or call coverage
The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week contract. All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission and included in the confirmation page. Float rotation may be required when patient volume or staffing demands necessitate coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for cardiac step-down patients, including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, and post-op open-heart patients
- Care for med-surg step-down patients
- Occasionally care for ventilated patients
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years cardiac step-down experience
- Experience with Open-Heart procedures
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (both required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for ventilated patients, even if infrequent
- Comfort providing care to ventilated patients if needed
