Responsibilities

  • Direct, modify, and administer physical therapy modalities and treatments as supervised by the Physical Therapist
  • Administer treatments and physical agents after the PT has evaluated the patient
  • Absorb and assist with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability
  • Support patients to reach maximum function and independence within their capabilities
  • Participate in department operational activities, performance improvement (PI) initiatives, and infection control and safety training
  • Collaborate with a patient population across age groups (infants through geriatric) to support safe, effective care

Requirements

  • Alaska license: Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in good standing, or eligible to work under FSBPT paperwork as a Student PTA post-graduation while preparing to take licensure exam
  • Education: Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (commonly a 2-year degree)
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience: Experience is preferred but not required
  • Vaccination policy: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required for travel assignments
  • Ability to work in a home health setting and provide care across a broad age range

About the Role

PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to direct, modify, and administer physical therapy modalities and treatments aimed at restoring function and maximizing patient independence across the lifespan.
