- Will be working in a Level IV Trauma Center and Chest Pain Center.
- Average patients/day is 7-8 per therapist.
- Minimum years of experience required: 2 years, will accept acute care, SNF, LTC, rehab, etc.
- Accepts first-time travelers.
- Patient types/diagnoses include COPD, CHF, hip fracture, total joints (hips/knees), CABG, stroke, Parkinson's, medically complex, debility, respiratory failure, spinal and abdominal surgeries, mostly geriatric.
- Required licenses/certifications: BLS, State PTA license.
- Skills required: Transfer training, gait training, home management, discharge planning, thorough documentation, team collaboration, clinical judgement regarding medical situations, therapeutic exercise, support within the department, CNAs on the floor, HUC, charge RN for the floor, phlebotomy at the hospital, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, but floor is managed by NP from 1700-0700, remote telemetry techs at main Floyd Campus, EMR: EPIC, med dispensing: Omnicell, monitors, unit specific equipment: Hoyer, Hoyer Journey, Modality tower, Bio Step, Motomed, Parallel bars, Car simulator, kitchen practice tub, washer and dryer, floating, no orientation (facility and unit).
- Orientation: NEO5 shifts of unit orientation, weekend rotation: No, on call: No, holiday expectations: No, approval of RTO: To go through manager, shift times: Monday – Friday, typically 0800-1700, schedule cycle: Monday – Friday, other notes: scrub color: Light Gray, parking: Free, unit culture: Team collaboration with nursing, helpful and willing to jump in where needed.
