This position involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients, including evaluation, treatment planning, and patient education within a healthcare facility setting. The role also requires operating various ventilatory equipment and performing diagnostic procedures pertinent to respiratory therapy. Job Details Role: Respiratory Therapist, Pediatric (RT PEDS) in St. Louis Certifications, Education, and Experience: Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist Registered, with no minimum experience required. Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week. Responsibilities include providing intensive respiratory therapy, conducting procedures such as chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, and assisting with bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care. Performs arterial puncture, 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and functions related to laboratory testing, specimen handling, and maintenance of ventilatory equipment. Ensures accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses, communicates with physicians, and maintains equipment. Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines. Assists with emergency procedures such as endotracheal tube placement/removal and equipment self-testing. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures related to laboratory testing and respiratory care.
