Job Description & Requirements
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Pathologists' Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Mountain View, California. The position requires one year of recent experience as a Pathology Assistant and a valid license when needed.
- Valid license when needed in compliance with any state regulations
- National certification through ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certifications
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Essential Work Functions
- Perform examination and dissection of specimens, ensuring proper documentation and processing
- Describe and sections specimens, applying appropriate fixation and processing techniques for microscopic evaluation
- Photograph and documents specimens, lesions, and tissue abnormalities for clinical and educational purposes
- Ensure proper labeling, accessioning, and tracking of all specimens to maintain accurate patient records
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Implement time management skills to optimize workflow and turnaround times
- Adequately manage equipment, provision of adequate supplies, and cleanliness of the surgical pathology suite
- Adequately assist with proper maintenance of equipment, provision of adequate supplies, and cleanliness of the surgical pathology suite
- Adequately adhere to quality control procedures to ensure accuracy in specimen handling and documentation
- Adequately adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Adequately perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
