About the role
Pediatric Medical Floor RN Traveler in Aurora, Colorado. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to high-acuity pediatric patients with pulmonary needs, including ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and chest tube management. The role requires strong pediatric pulmonary experience, with an emphasis on ventilator-dependent populations, and involves self-scheduling with rotating shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients with pulmonary needs
- Manage ventilators, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
- Float within the cohort as required by the organization
- Work 2 of the 3 designated holidays (no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Registered Nurse experience
- 2 years of Medical/Pulmonary Pediatrics experience
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
- BLS and PALS certifications
- BSN preferred
- Seasonal influenza vaccination (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
- Comfortable caring for high-acuity trach, vent, and chest tube patients
- Travel experience preferred but not mandatory
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week minimum
