Job Summary

This is a Resource Pool position for all Medical Surgical, Step Down, and Telemetry units in Morgantown, West Virginia. The role involves providing experienced nursing support across multiple units with a focus on Epic electronic medical records and acute care settings.

Job Details

  • Location: Morgantown, West Virginia

  • Specialty: Step Down Unit (Medical Surgical/Step Down/Telemetry)

  • Shift: Night shift, weekends clustered (Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday), from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Epic electronic medical record experience

  • ACLS (American Heart Association) certification

  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification

  • Willing to wait for license submission

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in related fields

  • Valid license to submit

  • Must meet individual unit requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 1 trauma experience

  • Travel experience

  • Well-rounded and strong background in Step Down, Neuro, Orthopedics, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology

Additional Information

  • The role involves working on units with up to 34 beds, including those specializing in trauma, general surgery, neuro, oncology, and long-term infusion.

  • Ratios are 1:3 for Step Down units and 1:6 for Medical Surgical and Telemetry units.

  • The units include: 8 East MedSurg, 8 West Stepdown/Floor, 8 NE Stepdown, 6E Long-term Antibiotic Infusion, 7 East Trauma & General Surgery, 7 West Stepdown/Floor, 7 NE Orthopedic/Neuro, 10 East Neuro Stepdown/EMU, 10 West/6 West Neuro, 9 East Surgical Oncology/MedSurg.

  • Trauma Level: 1

  • The charting system used is EPIC.

  • Candidates must be willing to wait for the license to be approved before starting.

  • Submissions are limited to one position at a time across the entire organization.

  • Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years; previous travelers there for 1 year must be gone for 2 years.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
