Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $3,050 per week

About the role
Step Down Unit Nursing Professional on the night shift from 09/14/2026 to 01/18/2027. This position involves providing specialized care for adult patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-procedure, and renal failure. The role requires a team-oriented approach, flexibility, and effective communication skills in a diverse cultural environment.
Responsibilities
- Titration of drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
- High-flow oxygen therapy management
- Read and interpret telemetry strips
- Troubleshoot equipment like vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high flow
- Manage arterial lines
- Float to MedSurg or ICU to match acuity as needed
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Competence in arterial line management
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Flexibility for RTO (up to 7 days upfront for the 13-week contract)
- License to submit required
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Minimum of 48 hours per week
- Duration: 18 weeks (09/14/2026 to 01/18/2027)
- One day of unit-specific orientation
Staffing & Environment
- Charge nurse available on each shift
- Nurse aides/patient care technicians on unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Trauma level 2 care setting
- Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs
- Hospital can cancel up to four shifts per assignment
