The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specialty position is located in a healthcare facility in Morgantown, West Virginia. The role involves providing patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, with a focus on anesthesia recoveries and sedation for outpatients and inpatients. This position requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing cardiac cases, structural heart procedures, vascular interventions, thoracic surgeries, and CT surgery recoveries within a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts on days
• Shifts can be a combination of three of the following per week, but must include one 0800-2030 shift: 0500-1730, 0600-1830, 0700-1930, 0800-2030
• Call is required, including weekends and hospital-recognized holidays, with a one-hour response time
• Orientation includes approximately one week

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit
• Manage anesthesia recoveries and sedation for outpatients and inpatients
• Handle cardiac cases, structural heart procedures, vascular interventions, thoracic surgeries, and CT surgery recoveries
• Occasionally recover Emergency Department (ED) patients in the PACU
• Adhere to unit-specific dress code and scrub color guidelines
• Chart using EPIC

Requirements

• Valid BLS (American Heart Association) certification
• Valid ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Experience in PACU for cardiac and non-cardiac patients

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
