About the role
TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a 13-week assignment in Bangor, Maine.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients
- Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to the patient
- Circulating OR Nurses: work within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field
- Scrub OR Nurses: handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field
- RN First Assistants: assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care, controlling bleeding, and suturing patients
- Respond to comfort and safety needs of patient
- Accurately care and handle specimens
- Monitor equipment used during surgery
- Inventory of surgical items pre- and post-procedure
Requirements
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- 3 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Pay
The pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
The shift is 8 hours, days.
