Ratios: 1:6/7
Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
Common diagnoses/types of patients: CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, chole, appe, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI
Charge Nurse? Yes, one charge RN on the floor
Are there nurse aides on this unit? Yes, PCTs on the unit
Are RNs required to Titrate drips? Yes, heparin based on APTT results
RT equipment (vents, cpap, bipap, etc): No vent, intermittent BIPAP
Is there tele on this unit? Yes, watched remotely by monitor techs
Shifts and Scheduling: transitioning to Qgenda
Weekends and Holidays: Scheduled as needed, usually 1/2 the total weekends
Standby or Call Requirement: No
Floating Requirements: As needed based on census, external traveler first to float
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
