About the role
The Medical Surgical Floor nurse position is located in Franklin, Indiana. This role involves providing patient care for a variety of medical and surgical patients within an acute care setting. The position offers a nights shift schedule, with a focus on clinical excellence and teamwork.
Schedule
- Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for cases including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, orthopedic, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, diverticulitis, bowel resection, and pancreatitis
- Float within Medical Surgical scope of practice as required
- Utilize Cerner charting system
On-site charge RN and supervisor are available on night shifts. RN staff are not required to titrate drips.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
- 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Critical Care units (preferred)
- Experience with MS/PCU/Telemetry or Critical Care units (preferred)
BSN not required. No blocked scheduling requests.
Orientation
- One shift of clinical nursing education
- Two shifts with a preceptor
