Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,995 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN Med Surg position in Medford, Oregon with TotalMed RN, a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency. 13‑week assignment, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Immediate opening for a Medical Surgical RN with 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift 20 pounds easily; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment
