Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,995 per week

Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Sioux City, Iowa.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med SurgDiscipline: RNStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelJob Summary (List Format): - Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing and managing care for patients. - Care for patients with orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical needs on a Med Surg unit. - Utilize EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. - Administer drips including Heparin, PCA, and epidural (chemo if certified). - Work schedule: - Orientation: 16 hours - 36–40 hrs/week (OT billable after 40), 48 hrs/week (OT billable after 48) - Overtime/Holiday pay at 1.15x; Call back at 1.5x (2 hr minimum) - On call: $9/hr; Charge/Precept: $6/hr - Participate in required orientation dates (10/26, 11/9). - Required to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) with limited time-off requests. - Expected to float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed. - Must wear navy blue scrubs. - No local candidates (must live 50+ miles from facility based on driver’s license). - Employee separation policy applies (see details above). - Facility: Sioux City, Level 3 Trauma Center (UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s). Submission & Profile Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience (required). - High-acuity care experience preferred. - First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience preferred. - Complete Med Surg-specific skills checklist and 1 recent supervisory reference. - Active certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA/ARC/US Military), NIHSS (can be obtained during onboarding). - Active Iowa state nursing license or compact license. - Provide work history and copy of driver’s license.
