Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Wichita, Kansas. This position involves providing compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and recovery within a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of working collaboratively in a busy maternity unit to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

- Duration: 6 weeks
- 48 hours per week
- Shift: 12 hours, nights
- Employment Type: Travel
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — must be in submission packet
Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of obstetric experience, including care and management of inductions, labor/delivery, recovery, and cesarean sections (preferred)
Unit information
- 20 single private rooms and 2 operating rooms
- Staffed with 56 team members including charge nurses, surgical scrub RNs, RNs, and admission control technicians
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 for mothers in active labor; 3:1 mother-baby couplets
- Equipment & Technology: Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDRP) equipment, well newborn care equipment, operating room equipment, PYXIS medication system, fetal monitoring systems (CPN)
- EMR: CPN GOLD
- Typical Procedures: Labor, delivery, recovery, cesarean sections
- The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly experienced professionals dedicated to providing personalized, family-centered care in a welcoming environment
- The Birth Care Suites offer a home-like setting with amenities supporting education and entertainment, enhancing the birthing experience
- Located across the street from the Children's hospital, the facility provides comprehensive Women's and Children's Services, including a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and specialized lactation support
