About the role
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) travel position in Englewood, Colorado. This role involves providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced unit specializing in labor, delivery, and postpartum care during night shifts.
The unit has 17 beds with staff including 1 charge nurse, 5-6 RNs, and 1 OB scrub tech per shift. Patient ratios fluctuate between 1:1 and 1:3 based on acuity. The team operates with advanced equipment such as electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) devices, Doppler, and Novii. Procedures performed include labor, cesarean sections, pitocin administration, magnesium drip, intrauterine artificial rupture of membranes (I-AECV), and cerclage placement. Strong teamwork, effective communication, and excellent patient experience skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in labor, delivery, and postpartum settings
- Monitor and assess patients using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) devices and other advanced equipment
- Assist with procedures including cesarean sections, pitocin administration, magnesium drip, and cerclage placement
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a registered nurse
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital labor and delivery experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NRPA certifications
- Ability to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Meditech electronic medical record experience
- Willingness to precept
- CEFMRNC-OB certification
