About the role
- Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- No on-call or standby requirement unless picking up an extra shift
- Floating as needed based on unit census
- Block scheduling based on unit needs; no self-scheduling
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on days through 2300; 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment required
- Cerner charting system used
- Must clock in and out at the facility
- Orientation consists of 1 shift of HR onboarding and 1 shift on the unit
Responsibilities
- Manage post-procedural cath lab patients, including TR band compression devices
- Care for post-cardiac surgical patients
- Manage chest pain patients
- Titrate drips including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine (no vasopressors)
- Responsible for incentive spirometry; RT available 24/7 for nebulizers, inhalers, CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm support
Requirements
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Experience with post-procedural cath lab patients required
- Experience with post-cardiac surgical patients required
- Experience managing chest pain required
- BSN not required
Facility
This acute care facility operates a 29-bed Medical/Intermediate Care unit specializing in cardiac medical and surgical patients. The unit serves a diverse patient population including post-cath lab patients, post-cardiac surgery patients, and those presenting with conditions such as CHF, arrhythmias, chest pain, and syncope. The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center equipped with comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy and a centralized telemetry monitoring unit.

Pay
Estimated gross weekly pay: $2,520 plus a $500 contract completion bonus.
