Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,304 per week

About the role

• Work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with options for day shifts
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• 1 holiday required per contract
• Schedule made in 6-week increments
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratios of 1:1-3; team nursing model utilized when managing more than 2 patients
• Float anywhere in the hospital within scope of practice; travelers float first
• When floating to MedSurg/Tele units or ED Boarding, patient ratio will be 1:4
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available in designated employee areas

Responsibilities

• Care for a diverse patient population including general/medical, cardiac, trauma, surgical, and neuro cases
• Perform vent/trach management, tube/drain management, chest tube care, and invasive line management including arterial lines and CVP
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation including reading and measuring strips
• Medication titration including sedation, pressors, cardiac, pain, and paralytic medications
• Preferred skills: abdominal pressure monitoring, EVDs, CVVH, and IABP

Requirements

• EPIC experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• TNCC certification preferred

Facility Details

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 91 beds total and a 14-bed ICU unit. The ICU is supported by:

• A charge RN who typically takes a patient assignment
• 1-2 CNAs per shift
• Bedside and centralized telemonitoring
• A HUC on day shift
• A break buddy system
• Respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7
• Occupational, physical, and speech therapy during daytime hours

The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical record system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Estimated gross weekly pay: $2,304 plus a $500 contract completion bonus.
