About the role
- Work 12-hour shifts with night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Schedule is made in 4-week increments with every other weekend rotation
- No on-call responsibilities
- 1 holiday requirement per contract
- Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required; first-time travelers are accepted
- Patient ratio is 1:2 based on acuity
- May float within scope of practice to intermediate units (1:3), MSU, ED Boarding (1:4), and Observation units (1:4) — travelers are first to float
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, ETOH, IVDA, overdose, SI, delirium, GI bleeds, strokes with TPA, ARF, DKA, and post-surgical recovery
- Surgical patient types include general, open abdominal, orthopedic, ENT, and OBGYN
- Cardiac and vascular patient types include fempops, CABG, EVAR, valves, post cath (radial and femoral approach), AAA, and amputations
- Manage vent/trach, invasive lines (art lines, CVP, Swan-Ganz), drains, chest tubes, foley, post-cath experience, CVVH, and CRRT
Requirements
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
- Required skills: vent/trach management, invasive line management (art lines, CVP, Swan-Ganz), drains, chest tubes, foley management, post-cath experience, CVVH, CRRT
- Preferred skills: cardiovascular and CV surgery experience, IABPs, Impellas
- Scrub color: any solid color; no camouflage, graphics, logos, or designs
- EMR system: EPIC (preferred)
- IV Pump: Alaris; Med dispensing: Pyxis; Unit specific equipment: NxStage CRRT

This 136-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II NICU is a designated Primary Stroke Center. The 17-bed ICU unit is supported by a robust team including CNAs, a charge nurse, an ICU-specific pharmacist, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7. The facility offers a well-structured orientation process and a collaborative environment designed to support traveling healthcare professionals.

Pay
Estimated gross weekly pay: $2,304 plus a $500 contract completion bonus.
