About the role

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. This 13-week travel contract begins on August 24, 2026, and involves working rotating 12-hour shifts in a critical access facility with a 1:2 patient ratio. The role provides essential care to diverse patient populations, including occasional pediatric surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Deliver critical care to ICU patients in a 1:2 patient ratio setting
• Care for diverse patient populations, including pediatric surgical cases
• Float to other Aspirus locations within a 40-mile radius (Tomahawk, Howard Young, Eagle River) as pre-scheduled
• Adhere to facility policy regarding mask-wearing during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccinations

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license
• American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience
• Prior critical access or rural experience highly preferred
• Charting experience with EPIC
