Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,108 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) position in Lander, Wyoming. The assignment is a 13‑week travel contract, 36 hours per week, working 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting.
• Provide direct care to patients in life‑threatening situations, documenting and delivering physician‑directed care.
• Assess and implement patient care plans and delegate to other care providers as appropriate.
• Provide education and support to patient families, including long‑term care needs.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work and interpret reports.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
• Communicate patients' conditions to family members.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications (additional certifications may be required before starting).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting at least 20 pounds routinely; patient handling may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Tolerant of exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases and able to care for patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
