About the role
A position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is available in an acute care setting at a trauma level 2, stroke certified facility. The role involves providing specialized care, managing high-acuity patients, and troubleshooting ventilators. Adaptability to float between units is required.
Responsibilities
- Float between Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVIU) and Neonatal and Surgical Intensive Care Units (NSICU)
- May float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU), which is very high acuity
- Charge registered nurse on unit 24/7 who is not assigned a patient
- Read own telemetry strips and troubleshoot ventilators
- Work every other weekend shift
- Manage drips requiring titration up and down (Pharmacy available 24/7)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
- Licensure to submit
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- No BSN required
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- Every other weekend
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 09/21/2026
