Schedule

• 36 hours per week, nights
• Shift entails 3, 8-hour shifts and 1, 12-hour shift per week (36 hrs total)
• Shift times: 11p–7a (8 hrs), 3p–11p (8 hrs), 7p–7a (12 hrs)
• Weekend coverage: every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for problem solving, providing clinical expertise
• Facilitate staff mentoring and coaching
• Facilitate patient flow during off-shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) for the entire 180-bed facility (5 units)
• Supervise nursing care delivered on all units organizationally
• Manage centralized staffing and productivity standards
• Coach and counsel staff to performance standards
• Handle new admissions and incident reporting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (DPH, TJC, OSHA, etc.)
• Oversee workplace safety, infection control, and isolation procedures
• Manage code situations, de-escalation techniques, and emergency preparedness
• Document and process patient deaths
• Monitor and report sentinel events
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and risk management protocols
• Start and maintain IVs, including PICC line care/management

Requirements

• Previous charge experience: required
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• BLS certification
• EPIC experience: required
• Unit accepts first-time traveler: yes
• Locals accepted: no (must reside > 75 miles away)

Unit Details

• Moore Place: Neurobehavioral unit for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s with violent behaviors
• Bilz Unit: Rehab unit for residents post-orthopedic surgery, cardiac procedures, etc., rehabbing to return home
• Vantassel Unit: Secure dementia unit for residents at risk for elopement
• Schulz Unit: Long-term care residents
• Wolf Unit: Long-term care residents

Avg. daily census: 180
