About the role
Emergency Room Registered Nurse position in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level I trauma center with a patient census of approximately 175 per day. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting adult and pediatric patients with a variety of urgent medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to adult and pediatric patients
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
- Perform patient assessments and emergency response procedures such as intubation and chest tube management
- Utilize Cerner charting system for documentation
Requirements
- Active Illinois nursing license or in application process with ETA
- Minimum 2 years experience in emergency medicine
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Proficiency in Cerner charting system
- General Emergency Department experience combining adult and pediatric patient care
- Willingness to work every other weekend
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and meet all certification requirements
- Completion of required modules and orientation prior to the start date
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric Emergency Department experience
- Previous Level I trauma center experience
- Trauma certification (Preferred Trauma Level I or II)
- Community hospital experience
- Travel experience
Schedule
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum 48 hours per week
- Start date: 08/31/2026
- No on-call requirement
- Guarantee of up to 36 hours cancellation per thirteen-week assignment
