About the role
Emergency Room Nurse in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This position involves providing emergency nursing care in a busy hospital environment with a high volume of patients, including strokes and pediatric cases. The role requires flexibility to cover weekend shifts and possibly an additional day shift based on candidate availability.
The emergency department handles approximately 180 patients daily, with a patient mix consisting of strokes and pediatric cases. The unit comprises 44 rooms with each team responsible for 10 beds/pods. Staff, including nurses, PCAs, and physicians, are supported by a centralized geography to facilitate teamwork. On-call and holiday coverage are as needed.
Orientation includes 12 hours of clinical training and 6 hours of non-billable orientation. Orientation start date is 08/26/2026.
Schedule
DAY shift on Saturdays and Sundays, with the possibility of full-time hours for additional shifts.

Requirements
- Illinois Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
Qualifications
- Experience working in emergency care with a minimum of 3-5 years preferred.
