About the role

13-week travel nursing assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin starting 08/17/2026. 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in an 8-bed observation unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Treat conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases (average patient stay up to 48 hours)
• Administer drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Manage high volume of admissions and discharges
• Read and interpret cardiac strips (EKG exam required during compliance)
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday rotation
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hour increments as needed
• Unit may low census in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an RN
• At least 1 prior travel assignment
• Background in observation units or MS/Tele units preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Any color scrubs acceptable

Estimated gross weekly pay: $2,412 plus a $500 contract completion bonus.
