Travel Nurse RN - DOU - Direct Observation Unit - $2,376 per week

About the role

Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a 13-week assignment starting July 27, 2026, at a full-service hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, and GI issues
• Manage drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Average patient stay of up to 48 hours with a high volume of admissions and discharges
• Read and interpret EKG strips
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Take 8-bed observation unit with 2 RNs per shift and a 1:4 patient ratio
• Work 12-hour variable shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Receive 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hour increments as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS (ARC or AHA accepted)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Scrub colors: any color

Qualifications

• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips

Pay

Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation), the estimated gross weekly pay is $2376.

Schedule

12-hour variable shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
